Tiers are placed relative to BULKHEAD's two published reference builds (GTX 1660 / RX 590 and i5-8600 / Ryzen 5 3500 for minimum; RTX 3070 / RX 6700 XT and i7-12700K / Ryzen 7 5700X for recommended). They are an informed estimate, not measured WARDOGS benchmarks — the game is not out yet.

    What the verdict means

BULKHEAD published two reference builds, and each one comes with a stated target rather than a vague promise:

    TierReference buildWhat BULKHEAD targets
    Minimumi5-8600 / Ryzen 5 3500 · GTX 1660 / RX 590 · 16 GB · Windows 101080p on Low, around 60fps
    Recommendedi7-12700K / Ryzen 7 5700X · RTX 3070 / RX 6700 XT · 16 GB · Windows 111440p to 4K on Medium, around 60-70fps

The checker places your parts relative to those two builds. It does not claim a frame rate, because WARDOGS is not out and nobody has measured one.

The three checks that are exact

Two of the four inputs are not estimates at all — they are pass/fail against published requirements:

    • 16 GB of RAM is a hard floor. It appears on both the minimum and the recommended spec, which is unusual and tells you the game genuinely needs it. If you have 8 GB, this is the upgrade to make before anything else.
    • Windows only. Early Access ships for Windows 10 and 11 via Steam. There is no macOS or Linux build, and Easy Anti-Cheat runs at kernel level — which is also what usually stops these games working under Proton or in a virtual machine.
    • Storage: 30 GB minimum, 40 GB recommended. Small for a modern shooter, consistent with a three-map Early Access launch. An SSD is not on the official list but is strongly advisable — large maps and fast respawn cycles are exactly the workload that punishes mechanical drives.

If you land below the minimum

In rough order of value per pound spent:

    1. RAM to 16 GB if you are under it. Nothing else matters until this is fixed.
    2. GPU up to at least GTX 1660 / RX 590 class. This is the cheapest tier on the used market by a wide margin.
    3. CPU last, and only if it is genuinely old. An i5-8600-class part is nine years old at launch; if yours is newer than that, your graphics card is almost certainly the limiting half.

You are in the largest group, and the honest answer is that you will be fine at 1080p. The gap between BULKHEAD’s two builds is mostly a resolution gap — 1080p Low versus 1440p Medium — not a playable/unplayable one.
