WARDOGS Console Commands and Launch Options (Early Access)
Does WARDOGS have console commands? No public developer console has been found in Early Access. What players use instead: Steam launch options, tested safely.
People searching for WARDOGS console commands usually want one of three things: a developer console for cheats or tweaks, a way to raise FPS, or to know whether the game is on PlayStation or Xbox. This page answers all three with what can actually be checked.
Does WARDOGS have console commands?
No public developer console or console command list has been found in the Early Access build, and neither BULKHEAD nor Team17 has published one. Generic Unreal Engine tricks such as adding -dev -console to the launch options come from guides for other games; there is no evidence they open a console in WARDOGS, and the game runs kernel-level anti-cheat, so do not use third-party tools to force one open.
What you can change instead lives in Settings (graphics, audio, keybinds) and in Steam’s Launch Options field.
How do you set launch options in Steam?
- Open your Steam Library.
- Right-click WARDOGS and choose Properties.
- On the General tab, type the options into Launch Options, separated by spaces.
- Start the game. To undo, clear the field.
Which launch options do players use?
None of these are official. They are community reports, they may do nothing on your system, and each one should be tested on its own before you combine them.
| Option | What players use it for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
-nogpucrashdebugging | Higher FPS, less stutter | Many players on the Steam forum report large gains. Other players point out that it turns off the GPU crash data the developers use to fix Early Access crashes, so leave it off if you crash often. |
-windowed | Black screen or music with no visible window at startup | A display-startup test, not a performance tweak. |
-dx11 | Render-startup problems | An experiment for launch issues, not a verified FPS boost. |
-ResX=1920 -ResY=1080 | Forcing a window size with -windowed | Change the numbers to your display. |
Is WARDOGS on console?
Not yet. Early Access is Windows PC only, through Steam. The launch trailer says console versions are planned for 2028 but does not name platforms; see release date, price and editions for details.
